I was in no way paid or compensated by Progressive International for writing this post/review.
So, the other day Jeni Flaa of Jeni Eats posted a question on Facebook of what one utensil do you have that mainly has one purpose, but you wouldn’t cook or bake without. I had a couple answers including the Pampered Chef Mix & Chop (seriously makes the easiest ground beef), but the other thing I said was this dohicky from Progressive International that I was given by my mother!
It got me thinking about it and how much I love it, even though I only use it about 2 months out of the year! But, as a busy full-time wife and “mom” who also works a full time job and does direct sales on the side I’m always looking for things that can save me time! What do I use it for? I use it for “balling” or cutting up watermelon! It makes it so slick! I also, didn’t know what the name of it was, so I reached out to Progressive International and communicated with their social media (Facebook) page manager, who informed me that this is part of the Three Piece Fruit Scoop Set.
It is the smallest of the three sizes and best used for kiwis, zucchini, and other small produce. Then, she gave me contact information for their PR marketing manager, Alyssa, who responded to my email the very next day. (I must also say that the Facebook manager replied to my private message in a matter of minutes! That’s good social media marketing management! It was a Sunday morning no less!) Alyssa confirmed what the device was along with providing me with some additional photos. Including this one demonstrating the use on a kiwi!
Now, I’ve never thought about using it on a kiwi, but now I can’t wait to try because those are some of my favorite fruits, but least favorite to “peel” and prepare to eat!
Unfortunately, Alyssa also informed me that they have discontinued production of this set, but also said that you can find it on Amazon from many vendors, which I did. The set of three can be purchased for around $16 with free shipping if you’re a Prime member! (Well worth the money in my opinion)
So, anyway…I decided to put my super fruit scooper to the test on Saturday when I was “cutting” up my watermelon! Here are my results! Judge for yourself if you need this super utensil!
yep…. I’m going and getting one of these ASAP! I eat watermelon and kiwi all the time. This will save me SO much time!
Yay! I’m so glad someone found it useful! Lol!
This is awesome!
Thank you! Its by far one of my favorite utensils!
My youngest loves fruit so much she actually asked for a melon baller for her birthday. I’ll have to show her this one.
That’s awesome! What a kid!!
